Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura is an ancient city in Sri Lanka, known for being one of the island’s oldest and most historically significant capitals. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it features well-preserved ruins of ancient palaces, massive stupas, monasteries, and the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree. Anuradhapura served as a major center of Theravāda Buddhism and Sinhalese culture for over a millennium.
